- Do a soil test and find out what amendments may be needed, and if everything's ok in that department, figure out how much compost you'll want to add and turn into the soil.
- Call your nursery and ask what plants do well in your area for food production (unless you know already). If you want, start those seedlings now.
- Make notes on what did well this spring and summer, what varieties did better than others, and consider saving some of your own seeds. There are lots of YouTube videos on how to do this successfully.
